Art Nouveau Unger Brothers Silver Teaspoon Figural Floral Cupids Nosegay (ID:5061)

Antique, Art Nouveau sterling silver teaspoon. Figural and floral Cupds Nosegay pattern. Made by Unger Bros (1872-1910) Newark New Jersey, early 20th c.

Measures: approx 5 7/8 inches long; weighs 24 grams.

Art Nouveau design with raised scrolling fluted ribbons, masses of flowers and Cupid peeping out between the blossoms. The otherwise plain bowl is engraved with the name Gladys, presumably the original owner, over 100 years ago.

The back of the spoon is possibly more beautiful than the front with overlapping foliage, finely detailed, langurously twisting and turning up the stem of the handle.

Marks: Unger Brothers mark - Unger Bros interlaced U & B as well as STERLING 925 FINE. Copyright 1904.

Condition: delicate wear, commensurate with age.
