Antique Victorian cheese dish with mouse and sea shells. Sterling silver. Made 1871 by Gorham Corporation and retailed by Shreve & Co.

Body of the cheese dish in the form of a fanlike seashell, rounded, fluted and showing clear signs of gilding. The handle consists of a series of scrolling wires. The feet of the bowl are reminiscent of Gorhams Narragansett series - in the form of wonderfully modelled seashells.
