Description : An arching clip of gold-colored metal with beautiful engraving featuring a double border, one with scrolling foliage and one with tiny beaded circles. The arching ground of the hair clip is engraved with tiny stars with a large area in the center with engraved scrolls around a lattice. Sturdy hinge holds the 'clip' part to the top, allowing it to extend widely to facilitate ease of use. All parts of the tynes or teeth are also strong and sturdy and will hold a healthy ponytail.

Pinchbeck is an alloy of metals that resemble gold. The French call it 'ponponne' and it was used to make beautiful jewelry for a much lower price than real gold during the 18th and 19th centuries. The workmanship is usually just as good as though the item were made of solid gold, as in this case.

Makes a unique and beautiful hair accessory for today's woman.
