The Victorians excelled at making Romantic and Sentimental jewelry. This necklace combines all of the most sought-after elements of Victorian jewelry: the snake-like body with turquoise and pearls set in galleries; the loving heart locket set with matching turquoise. To go right over the top, inbetween each turquoise cabochon is a small diamond indicating that this was indeed a very high class necklace. The clasp of the necklace is set with identical turquoise and pearls to the rest of the chain and is indistinguishable from it. The back of the heart-shaped pendant has a crystal or glass cover, behind which a portrait or locket of hair can be placed.

Comes with original fitted box. The leather heart-shaped box with a gold line along the border and securely closing clasp.
