Antique Victorian Ring 14k Gold Cabochon Garnet Unisex for Man or Woman (7070)

Antique late Victorian ring. 14k gold and garnet. Made circa 1890 - 1900.

Measurements: Weight is 3.4 grams. US size 5.25

Description : Striking looking ring that is all about the large, cabochon garnet. Longer and rounder than a classic sugarloaf in shape which would be faceted. The garnet is a beautful gem of a lovely deep red color, glowing with light and moving to dark burgundy in shade. The garnet is held above the finger by a high gold mount with 4 strong gold prongs at the cardinal points. At the shoulders, gold balls connect the prongs to the shank. The gold band flares out and broadens at the shoulders. In this wider area there is scrolling, foliage decoration. The ring can easily be resized.
Makes a very strong statement. Versatile, classic and classy. Can be worn by a man or a woman.

Marks and Metal: worn mark 14k.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
