Antique Art Nouveau Edwardian / Belle Epoque ring. 18k gold, platinum, diamond, emeralds, amethyst, ruby, sapphire, topaz. Made in the United Kingdom early 20th century.

Description :Made early 1900's, this ring has Victorian sentiment combined with Art Nouveau design. Acrostic jewelry where the first letter of each gemstone spells out a word, in this case DEAREST (diamond, emerald, amethyst, ruby, emerald, sapphire and topaz). The flower shaped center of the bezel with the relevant gems is surrounded by a delicate scrolling foliate design of filigree platinum, set with small diamonds. The sides mirror image one another. The scrolls leading the eye from the center to the sides of the finger. These Art Nouveau scrolls both enclose and emphasize the central gems.
Metal is a base of yellow gold with yellow gold shank and underside of bezel, but gems, as was typical of the period, are set in platinum. Gems are small, but bright and lively. (approx .05ct each).
Marks and Metal: Inside the shank is marked 18ct and PLAT.
Fine and delicate, this is a lovely ring to gift a loved one, whether she is a daughter, fiancee or graduate.
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age.
