Description : Impressive large ring. Classic design with a large, central emerald surrounded by flashing old mine cut diamonds. Appraiser believed white metal is white gold. We think it is silver and are selling it as such. Like most jewelry of the 19th century, diamonds were set in silver to show them off to best effect, while the rest of the jewel would be in yellow gold. Quality of the ring is shown by the lattice of loops at the back - a detail that would not be visible to the eye, yet the maker took the trouble, time and expense to include. Ring is suitable for either a man or a woman. We believe it belonged to an Indian prince.

GIA New York certificate confirms that this is a Columbian emerald with minimal treatment. THe ring also has an independent appraisal with value for $15640.00

Marks and Metal: No marks on metal. Metal was acid tested to ensure purity.
