Antique Georgian Restoration era ring. 18k yellow gold, emerald and rose cut diamonds. Made in France circa 1814-1830.
Measurements: US size 7. Weighs 2.7 grams. Emerald is approximately 7X6mm. Bezel approximately 11X9mm.
Description: Small ring but strong design and colors will make a strong impact. Rectangular bezel with a simply cut rectangular emerald surrounded by a border of rose cut diamonds. Emerald with a beautiful bright green color. Any kind of treatment would have dissipated over the years, so it is naturally a great stone. Tiny gap between bezel and hoop - they are actually connected via a narrow strip of gold that leads to the gently flared shoulders of the fluted gold band. The bezel is held well above the surface of the finger by a ring of openwork gold arches.
Marks: Eagle head for French 18k gold. Lozenge with the initials C F for the maker.
Condition: good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
