Extraordinary ring. Probably made for a man, but suitable for either a man or a woman. The bezel consists of a large cushion of gold. Bright cut engraving and chased flowers surround a round garnet. The shoulders in the form of triangular flowers with a pair of kundan set emeralds and a ruby on either side. Beneath this is an openwork shank with stylised snakes. Cobra heads directly beneath the shoulders, surrounded on either side with loops - perhaps once held dangling objects. The openwork filigree shank with a wiggling, wriggling gold snake curling around it. This is an incredibly fascinating ring that combines many interesting features. It looks superb on the finger and is suitable for wear both day and night. Great quality workmanship.

Marks: none, as is to be expected. The gold was acid tested between 18-22k (slightly weak on 22) and is probably around 20k.

Condition: good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures for details.
