Description : Art Deco design with strong geometric forms, elegance and bright, contrasting colors using black to contrast with white gold and diamonds. The star of the show is a large, long jade drop. Oval, widening to the bottom is is a lovely shade of bright emerald green with relief carving over the entire surface. Carving depicts scrolling foliage. The jade drop is held in a cap of white gold, diamonds and black enamel, looking like the calyx of a flower bud. The zig-zag pattern of the diamonds and white gold against the black enamel are typical of strong Art Deco design. A bale of white gold, pave set with diamonds connects the drop to a ring of black onyx, which in turn is connected to another bale of the same design (white gold pave set with diamonds), through which the chain is run. White gold chain accompanies the pendant, but not original to it.
This striking pendant has a wonderful design and the colors and quality of materials and workmanship are totally fabulous, making for an exceptional piece of jewelry. Versatile - it can be worn with any outfit.
Marks and Metal: No marks found on the pendant. Chain has a small disk that is engraved 750 (18k gold) as well as another, illegible mark. I acid tested the gold of the pendant to ensure metal purity.
Origin: I bought this pendant in Paris, but in the absence of French hallmarks on the pendant itself, we cannot be sure of it's origin.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
