Description : Alternating horizontal and vertical loops form a sturdy gold-colored chain. Surface is beautifully textured with a raised trellis pattern. The diamond-shape formed by the trellis with raised beads.
Tongue-in-groove clasp with barrel shape is very secure.
Extremely versatile, the chain can be worn at varying lengths - as a sautoir or very long chain around the neck or diagonally from one shoulder under the arm on the other side; wound twice at varying lengths around the neck or even three times in a dog-collar fashion. It can also be worn as multiple bracelets worn around the arm.
In the 1700's, Christopher Pinchbeck invented an alloy of zinc and copper that resembles gold most successfully. Pinchbeck will fool even a seasoned antique jewellery dealer until it is tested. It is highly sought after in its own right
today. One of the greatest advantages of pinchbeck is that it does not tarnish and will retain its beautiful golden color as this chain has for over 200 years.
