Description : Strong geometric design to tightly woven gold beads. THere are 3 beads in a vertical section and 4 of these trios make a section that alternates with a pendant station. These pendants protrude both above the plain of the gold ribbon as well as forming drops of varying lengths. They are finely decorated with flowers, granulation and their forms are steeped in the spiritual history of India that has been lost to us, but is still aesthetically very beautiful. This necklace was probably part of a bride's dowry or wedding gift from her husband. It is attached to a black cord (this one is replaced as the original was probably dirty and in tatters) that can be lengthened or shortened according to the size/needs of the wearer.

Marks: There are no marks as is to be expected of Indian jewelry of this age. Gold was acid tested.

Condition: Minor wear commensurate with age and use. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
