Vintage signed collar Necklace. 18k white gold and diamonds. Made in France by Dinh Van circa 1970's and since then retired.
Measurements: total length is approximately 16 1/4 inches (41.5cm). Weighs 17.7 grams.
Description: This collar necklace echoes the 20th century and our technological world. The chain is like a quietly glinting wire of white gold - you have to look closely to appreciate the incredible quality of the workmanship that produced it. The front is very clever: it consists of an open ring of white gold set with diamonds. Partially hidden by an overlapping disk of gold, which functions as the clasp. The clasp works by simply pushing on the back, like any kitchen crocodile clip.
Known for his inventive imagination, romantic and idealistic ideas, Dinh Van began working at Cartier during the 1970's. He very soon went off on his own and his strong designs are highly sought after. Even people who are unfamiliar with the name of Dinh Van are attracted to this unique jewelery.
Marks: There are a number of hallmarks on the necklace. Behind the diamond section is 750, French eagle head mark (both for 18k gold), DINH VAN and a maker's mark lozenge. Behind the disk is engraved the word LEFT.
Condition: good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
