Antique long chain necklace, sautoir. 14k red gold. Origin and exact date unknown, but believed to date to circa 1900. Possibly Russian.

Measurements: Weight is 32.0 grams. A little over 52 inches (133cm) long.

Description : Twisted elongated oval links with overlapping filigree circles of gold. Connected by small round gold loops. Gold has a distinct red tone, often used in Russia about 100 years ago and it is very possible that this chain was made in that country. The length of the chain makes it extremely versatile. It can be wound two or three times around the neck and it can be worn around the arms as well. Design combines a solidity with a lightness and gold ribbons have a wonderful glow that catches the light and gleams. Great for wearing with any outfit - from very smart to very casual.

Marks and Metal: Two links (one on clasp) are marked 18k, but we acid tested the gold of the chain and it stays for 14 and not 18k.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
