Antique Antiquity Bizantine ring. High carat gold, garnet and natural pearls. Made circa 6th - 9th century AD.

Shank is hollow gold hoop, widening significantly towards the shoulders and bezel. The sides of the bezel with deep collets, each with wire-attached pearl. In the center is a double gold trumpet topped by a ring of pearls and centered by a cabochon garnet. The pearls are attached via wires that are held by 4 gold hoops on top of the bezel. The garnet is collete set. Bottom trumpet section is crenelated; top section is smoothe. Despite its age, this ring is immensely attractive and wearable today.
Marks: none as is to be expected. High carat gold.
Condition: very good, especially considering that the ring is well over 1000 years old. Negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see 'photos for details.
