Antique Victorian Earrings Gold Drops Dangles Carved Coral Roses (ID:5025)


Antique, Victorian Earrings. Pendants with dangles and carved coral roses. Made circa 1860-1880.

Measurements: Main body of the earrings are approx 1 1/4 inches (31mm) long (excluding the dangle appendages and the round surmount and wires). Weigh 7.3grams.

Main body of the earings in the form of a kite-shape with rounded apex. The wides part is set with a carved coral rose. Engraves simple designs above and below, gold globes on the two upper surfaces and appended dangles, joined via loops so that they swing as the wearer moves on the lower, longer borders. The round surmounts are most likely replacements, as is the case in much Victorian jewellery.

Simple wires make wearing these earrings easy and comfortable. Highly attractive and guarranteed to bring compliments.

No hallmarks, but acid tested as 18k gold.

Condition: good with negligible wear, commensurate with age.
