Antique Victorian - Edwardian earrings. Bohemian garnets and white sapphires set in 14k yellow gold. Made late 19th to early 20th century.
Measurements: Weight is 5.6 grams. Diameter is 12mm. Garnets measure 7mm each - totalling 3.70ct. 2.42ct sapphires.
Description : Classic flower-form earrings. Large central, deep red spessartite garnets that glow as the light catches them and fall into deep shadow as they move out of the light. The strong color of the garnets is offset and contrasted by the white, transparent Old Mine Cut sapphires that surround them, forming the petals of the flowers. French screw-backs can easily be replaced with either wires or posts.

Marks and Metal: No marks. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity.
Condition: Minor wear commensurate with age. One terminal of a screwback is different to the other, so it was possibly replaced early in the life of the earrings. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
