Antique earrings / ear pendants. 18k Gold, natural material and turquoise. Made early 20th century.
Measurements: approximately 2 inches (5.25cm) long. Weigh 13.1grams together.
Ear studs w butterflies at the back for pierced ears. The carved 'natural material' forms a half globe surmount, backed in gold. A couple of gold loops suspend a pear shaped drop, the neck enclosed in gold. The surface is studded with cabochon natural Persian turquoise. Blue shading to green where the turquoise has changed color over the last century. Stunning, to say the very least and beautifully made.
Marks: none, typical of jewelry made during this era.
Condition: generally good. The natural materials have weathered slightly with age: some turquoise has turned a green tone, the result of exposure to dry air over the course of the last 100 years. The 'natural material' has negligible cracks, shown magnified in the 'photos, typical of this material over long periods of time. Nothing detracts from the attraction of these extraordinary earrings.
