Description :Designed as a little dog, the entire surface pave set with diamonds. Typical of Victorian jewelry, the diamonds are set in silver over gold. The dog has long floppy ears and a long tail, curving slightly and extending backwards, adding to the elongated effect of his long body and short legs. A small ruby is set as his eye. Most unusually, the back of the brooch is also detailed with engraved details to his face. C-clasp.
The previous owner thought this brooch is in the form of a dachshund, but I think he looks like a beagle. You decide.
Marks: No marks. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity.
