Description : Bangle formed of twisted gold, like a rope. The top and clasp are very unusual. Composed of oval cabochon opals surrounded by rose cut diamonds raised by a pierced gold gallery. One opal will bypass the other, much like a crossover ring (French toi moi). The unusual catch consists of a gold rod on one side that will fit securely into a tube on the other. A little push and it closes. Snug fit.

Opals are of very good quality. White/almost transparent, with vibrant patches of color and flashes in a palette of greens, purples, blues and pinks. Fine workmanship.

Comes in beautiful, original fitted leather, silk and velvet box with gold embossed borders and secure hinges and clasp. The box is embossed twice with a Crown above Carrington & Co To His Majesty The King and Her Majesty Queen Alexandra 130 Regent St. W. King Edward and Queen Alexandra place the date of this bangle firmly into the first decade of the 20th century. Carrington, who became the Prime Warden of the Goldsmiths Company was retailed by amongst others, Tiffany and Cartier.

Versatile and as wearable today as it was 120 years ago.

Marks and Metal: No marks were found. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity.
