Antique Victorian brooch. 18k yellow gold, nephrite jade, demantoid garnet. Made in England by Carlo & Arthur Giuliano, circa 1895-1914.

8 drop shaped cabochon cut pieces of nephrite jade. 9 round demantoid garnets, measure approx 1.80ct together.
Stylised flower, starburst openwork brooch. Radiating jade elongated pear-shapes centered by a round green demantoid garnet, with round green demantoids forming a ring near the outside of the circle. Stones are colette set and quality of the workmanship can be seen when we look at the brooch from the back and sides (see 'photos). C-clasp with hinged pin. Comes in a fitted box of gold-embossed red leather.
Marks: the Carlo and Arthur Giuliano mark in an oval is on the side of the hinge, which is where the Giulianos typically marked their brooches.
Condition: very good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
Carlo and Arthur Giuliano took over the business when their father, Carlo Giuliano, died in 1895.
