Antique Art Nouveau masqueron knife or scissors sheath / case. Sterling silver. Made by Unger Brothers (1872-1910), Newark, New Jersey. Circa 1890-1905.
Measurements : 5 3/4 inches long; Weighs 24.6grams.
Triangular shaped, tapering towards the bottom. The entire top surface is very richly embellished in repousse silver with a scrolling agricultural scene - a grinning mask, a sheath of corn displaying the richness of many kernels and at the bottom, a tiny acorn. Fleur des Lis, ribbons and scrolls in fine detail. An opening and loop at the back, make hanging the item from a hook or chatelaine possible.
Marks: Unger Bros interlaced U & B as well as STERLING 925 FINE.
Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
