Antique Art Nouveau St Silver Nail Manicure Pair Scissors Foster & Bros (ID:5078)


 Antique Victorian era Art Nouveau pair of scissors and nail files for manicure / nails - could be used for sewing and embroidery. Sterling silver. Made by Theodore W Foster & Bros Co, Profidence Rhode Island, circa 1890 -1905.


Measurements: approximately 4 1/2 inches tall. Weighs 20.7 grams.


Beautiful Art Nouveau floral design. Victorian era attention to detail and quality of workmanship. Flowers exquisitely portrayed convey a Japanese influence. Foliate thumbrests, swirling fluted circles conform to shape of the scissors. Sides of the blades with serrated edges for filing nails.


Marks: Blade is incised F&B; Sterling handle incised F&B STERLING.


Condition: very good considering the age of the item. Minor wear commensurate with age, but moulding is still very clear, blades firm and sharp.
