Chinese Silver & Enamel Ting 3-legged Cup w Lid c1940s (4619)


Vintage Chinese silver and cloisonne enamel Ting / 3-legged cup with cap. Made in China, circa 1940's.


Approximately 6 3/4 inches high. Weighs 191.2grams.


Chinese cup on 3 tall legs, with fitted lid / cover. Slender, elegant legs, join in leaf form to the egg-like body of the cup. The surface of the cup and fitted lid, which is almost the exact inverse of the bowl, is covered with gilt silver wire work. Above this is a series of enamel images - dragons floating amongst wonderful blue clouds, green mountains below. The finial is a crown of scrolls and globes. Raised dragon heads in filigree wirework and enamel. A ring of Greek key design in gold wire and turquoise enamel around the border of the bowl.


The inside of both bowl and lid is very richly gilded.


Beautiful cloisonne enamel workmanship and joyful colours. A delight in every way.


Engraved mark SILVER under one of the feet.


Very good condition. No damage of any sort to be found.
