Antique Art Nouveau necklace pendant. 14k yellow gold, enamel, amethyst and natural baroque pearls. Made in Newark, New Jersey by the Krementz company circa 1895-1905. <P><P>
Measurements: a little over 15 inches (38.5cm) total length; central pendant approximately 3cm top to bottom. Weighs 7.1 grams. <P><P>
Description: Made to sit at the nape of the neck. Pendant necklace with gold chain swags connecting natural baroque pearls. The central pendant with strong Art Nouveau design - whiplash, elongated swirls overlapping one another. A raised oval amethyst is colette set in gold. On either side the amethyst and gold are echoed by a pair of leaves, exquisitely enamelled in violet-purple and yellow. Golden scrolls with very fine detail. Beautiful workmanship. Extremely fine example of American Art Nouveau. <P><P>
Marks: engraved 14k and maker's mark for Krementz, who operated in New Jersey from the 1860's. <P><P>
Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age. It is rare to find a piece of this delicacy in such a good state - pearls and enamel with no flaws and no restorations. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer. <P><P>
