Antique late Victorian - Edwardian pansy pendant 18k gold, sterling silver, diamonds and amethysts, and later platinum chain. Original fitted box. Made circa 1895-1905. English.
Measurements: Pansy approximately 17mm long, excluding bale. Including bale a little under 3cm. Diamonds approximately 0.75ct. Amethysts 2.45ct. Pendant weighs 2.9grams. Chain 2.8 grams.
Exquisitely crafted flower. Naturalistically shaped like a pansy and like a pansy, with a lovely purple colour. Diamond center and edges of petals. Curving bale is also set with diamonds. Typical of jewelry made during this era, the back is gold while the gems are set in silver, to show them off with better effect.
Marks: No hallmarks, typical of this period, but metals are guarranteed as described.
Condition: the pansy is in good condition with minor wear commensurate with age. The bale has been worn thin where the chain rubs it and should be secured.
